A Molehill is a Mountain
Foreword
|
| "Remove not the ancient landmark ..." Proverbs 23:10 |
| The bible has and remains
the best source on Christian' living. In it we learn that when we
honor God and keep his commandments he guides and protects us from
harm. A Molehill Is a Mountain is a modern day story of the travails
that we are likely to face when we turn away from God's Word and teachings
and promote the rigors of work and career over family. |
|
| In this story, Thais'
dad repeatedly breaks commitments to his son. Only when faced with
the possibilities of losing him, does he repent by praying to God
and lamenting his neglect of family, church worship and Bible study.
Although Thais' dad is blessed with a new chance to live life in a
way more harmonious with God's teachings, many do not heed the warning
and ultimately lose the love of family for the material rewards of
success. |
|
| Although this
book serves as a cautionary tale of what can likely happen when we
neglect family responsibilities, in a larger sense it is a descriptive
tale of the root causes of family decay and breakdown. In a larger
sense, it is also the story of how we risk losing our children to
the mean and hostile values of the streets when we remove ancient
landmarks that serve as guidance for Christian living for future generations. |
|
| As parents read
this book to their children, it should serve as a valuable wake-up
call to set aside quality time with their children and to give due
honor to God. Only then, will we be able to lift our communities out
of the dust and rebuild them on a rock with a firm and lasting foundation.
Although written for children, this book should be required reading
for all parents. |
