"A Molehill Is A Mountain"

Friday afternoon is full of excitement. A crowd of
people has come to see who will win the game.
The baseball game is in the 4th inning. It is Thais's
turn to hit the ball. Dad still had not come.
Thais looks around for him. Mom is there cheering for
him along with the other parents. Thais does not
pay attention when the ball is Pitched to him.
He swings at the ball and misses. "Strike two!" Says the
umpire. "That's okay, Thais," someone shouts.
"You have one swing left to hit the ball."
"We still have a chance to win!" says someone else.

Dad does not get home until late that evening.
"What happened to you?" Thais asks as Dad comes in the
door. "You missed my game," Thais begins to cry.
Almost all of the fathers were there except you.
"I wanted you to be there too."
"Thais' hit drove in the winning run. His team won
the game 3-2", Mom says. "This would have been the team's
last game for the season if they had not won.
I know you have to work and emergencies happen
some of the time," Mom continues to talk to Dad as
he comes in and closes the door.
"You have to take some time to be with your family!
What is happening with you? You are always so busy.
Why didn't you come today?" |
