Fur Coats In My Closet

Preface

One day while my daughter, Tesha, and I were talking, I told her the story about my Aunt Louise. 'I am sure,' she said, "there are a number of women who have a similar story. I think you should write a poem about it." I told her I'd rather-write a story, but she insisted that I write a poem and call it "Fur Coats In My Closet.'
After tossing the idea around for several months, I finally came up with some words. I felt pretty good about how I had handled the topic. But GOD would not let me rest in my smugness. I have often described myself as a writer used as an instrument by God to glorify Him. As usual, God would have His way with this story. I was surprised at the direction in which He led me and the lesson I was taught.
Although the, book grew out of the idea of the relationship- between a woman and her unfaithful husband, God led me to use it to show the believer's unfaithfulness to Him.
Part One - Fur Coats in my Closet Section I the annotated poem "Fur Coats In My Closet," written as a reflective piece of a wife as she addresses the infidelity of her husband and his girlfriends, and she ends up in a powerful dialogue with a powerful and faithful God, using Proverbs 5:15-23 as the main text.
Section II is a list of the many references upon which the poem was built.
